Growing up in the hills overlooking Lake Constance in Switzerland, we spent much of our youth together learning the value of natural beauty and friendliness of the people around us. After realizing how much we had in common, we set out to form a lasting life together, both as husband and wife and also in our calling in life.
With hard work and zeal to offer the highest level of quality, we first opened and managed a very successful butcher shop which then grew into a leading purveyor of fine wines and a catering business in Switzerland. Our attention to detail and quality became apparent not only to the local community, but gained the respect of the regional hoteliers and restaurateurs alike. Realizing our talents, we have also been operating a seasonal restaurant.
Combining our experiences and dreams, we set out travelling the globe searching for a unique place that would embody the beauty of its natural surroundings in its hospitality. We found that very special place in Kaikoura.
